Giving the drama at Beverly hills some thought, maybe I have been wrong, and it's not the fault of the RTA at all.
All the fanciful ideas I've written about,in previous pages on this site, ideas that might help drivers and school children, the e-mails to the road minister Mr Roozendaal,to newspapers, and other media ... what was I thinking?
The Beverly hills school zone has flashing lights, road markings, speed camera signs, and still drivers recklessly speed through this zone, get caught and then whinge.
What more can the much maligned RTA do.
If over 2000 drivers have been caught, and have joined a class action,how many others were there that have been callously endangering chidrens lives, that we don't know about?
This situation has to stop.
Well instead of knocking the RTA it's time to help them.
Monday morning at my own expense and time, I will do my best to slow those drivers who wantonly disregard the 40 kmh school zone and speed at this school zone at school zone time.
As so many drivers are disobeying the law at this school zone, I feel it my duty to help the RTA to slow down these miscreants.
It's the least I can do.
No I won't be in my Santa suit, as the situation at Beverly hills is too serious for dress ups, all I'm there for is to try and slow the traffic for the children's safety.
