i am a school teacher myself so am very aware of school zone times, i did not for one second think that the speed camera on king georges road was in a school zone. It is no where near a school!! i drive on the opposite side of the cameras every morning and have been booked every day since the 21st of august and have recently received the fines. I have noticed the school zone near beverly hills girls but there is no school zone finish sign and therefore i assumed the zone finishers just after the school like the school zone around the school i teach at. i have been driving for 10 years and never been booked and now with all these fines i will lose my license. All i was doing was going with the traffic on a busy road so does this mean that every single driver was booked there would be hundreds of people who drive by there every morning and would be fined everyday does that mean that hundreds of drivers will lose there license. It seems like a big scam to me! my fines are in the thousands i will needs to work 2 months to pay them off. I am so stressed about this. whats the best thing for me to do??

When I rang on the 11 Sept, to see if they'd recieved my e-mail from the Tuesday before, the person I spoke to didn't know about a class action against the RTA by 100 people thus far.

Dear sir,
I question the need at all, for there to be a school zone along the whole length of the shopping strip at King Georges Rd Beverly hills.

With a fence and planterboxes, this area is virtually a divided road and with an overbridge, and traffic lights along it's length, there are ample places for pedestrians to cross safely.
Granted there is a school at both ends of the school zone, but why not have a zone at the school, not a single one nearly one kilometer long.
Last Monday 3rd Sept. in the morning school zone time, I counted the South speed camera light flash 34 times in one hour, as cars went past allegedly exceeding the 40 kmh limit.
Why would drivers do this, unless they were unaware that they were still in a school zone, yet nowhere near a school.
The RTA have put up a small "repeater " school zone sign at Egdbaston st, but it needs to be one with flashing lights.
On Tues 4 th Sept, I e-mailed Mr Roozendaal the roads minister requesting that this be done, I have not as yet, had any response.
