School Zone Santa .Com

As it's the Easter weekend coming up double demerit points are earned for speeding and seat belt offences as from 12.01am this morning.


I stood next to the Beverly Hills (South) speed camera and counted the sensor flashes of cars exceeding the 40 km/ph school zone speed limit this morning (8.00-9.30am)





So there are 10 drivers that will get a infringement notice (eventually) with a fine and 8 demerit points from this morning's school zone time there.
The courier driver would be far from happy I would imagine.


These drivers had no idea they were breaking the law, who would speed if they knew it was 8 points to edge over the limit.


If there was the extra flashing lights at Edgbaston st. as I've suggested to the roads minister 5 times since last September there wouldn't be the problem there.


The other (4) in brackets were "speeding" but luckily had to stop at "the pedestrian lights before the camera.





If they put a flashing light unit on the existing school zone sign (circled), the traffic stopped at lights (arrow) would be reminded that it's school zone time and wouldn't be caught by the sneaky hidden speed camera up the pole on the right, and of course all the schoolchildren would be safer too.

Then why does the RTA think it's necessary to put up this sign even after all the years we've had school zones





The above reminder was flashing on King Georges rd Hursville at 9.45am this morning.

They haven't put up the extra flashing lights at Edgbaston St, but there has been a change to the south camera (flash)





Irate drivers have adjusted the original flash on occasions, so it has been placed on a square pole up out of harms way.





I say square pole, it's actually a round pole inside a square one.

A square one being a bit more difficult to use a pipe cutter on.


I'm amazed that no one has gone the British way of relieving speed camera stress.see

How much stess would someone have, who collected multiple fines (upto 21 fines, one driver) at Beverly Hills, clocking up all those tickets before getting the first one in the mail.


Now drivers get one month of "free tickets" as a friendly warning, but that doesn't help those thousands caught in August last year.
