Easter Monday and it's a public holiday.
They can tell when Easter falls in the calender for the next thousand years.
The RTA spent millions to install flashing lights at selected school zones and they are flashing away this morning along with the speed cameras.
It seems they haven't been able to pre-programn today as a public holiday.
One of the lights "practising" for tomorrow when it is school time.

The flashing lights installed at four schools around Lurgano and Peakhurst WEREN'T working today, unlike the hideous expensive ones favoured by the RTA.
These are the ever reliable, effective, cheap flashing lights that have kept children safer and motorists aware of school zone times.

An example of the Olsen lights working correctly at a designated school zone time.
Note the brake lights on the car.
All the sign needs is a sponsers tag added so all schools can have the same to help kids and drivers.
