School Zone Santa .Com

Nothing to report on the school zone issue so I've a few thoughts on sem-related topics.
Planning Minister Craig Knowles has failed a random breath test, where he allegedly registered 0.085 and later .0.06, (DT 4/4/05)and he was charged, which shows that no one is above the law
But how his case is dealt with by the court, will show how equal we are.

On the same page the paper tells us that from today motorists will be fined less for minor speeding offences but will lose an extra demerit point.

So it will cost us less to loose our license quicker.

This won’t help drivers unwittingly cruising through school zones.(flashing lights might help)

I haven’t read or heard anything from the insurance companies about how much they must be saving by rejecting claims for vehicles damaged in accidents where the driver was disqualified.
With more and more drivers running out of points and taking the risk of driving while banned the number of claims rejected must be significant.

A rollout of nearly 1000 new parking meters described as the largest operation of it's type in the southern hemisphere has been hampered by malfunctions and motorist confusion. (DT 31/3/05)
A council ranger told the daily telegraph that the meters had problems with their solar energy system and were losing power.

This was denied by a Mr Price from "Reion" the suppliers, and he said that of the 800 so far installed, only 460-500 were turned on and accepting payments.

Now I would think that the whole idea of solar power is that these flash machines are totally portable, all you do is put them together,test, bolt them to a prepared foundation and turn them on.
Weren't they tested?
Is Reino a division of the people that made the mellenium train?

I would think that every minute that the meters aren't "accepting payments" it's lost revenue.

The solar power bit caught my eye as I wrote about it in Categories"solar power for school zones,why?

Modern technology ....we rely too much on it.
It's great, but only if it works.
