Things to come
Last night on "A Current Affair " there was more on the never ending saga of speed cameras.
As I have written I don't have a problem with road rules,I have never been booked for something I haven't done.
But since the advent of speed cameras people are booked and fined because of faulty equipment.
The thing that caught my attention last night were the figures of revenue gained from these cameras.
NSW $65 million
VICTORIA $167!!!!!!!
Which state has the higher population and therefore the most vehicles?
Why has Victoria made $102 million more than NSW?
Is it because they have more bad drivers?
I would venture to say it's because they have speed cameras hanging off all those signs above highways and byways.
The same signs that are springing up all over Sydney.
"Don't speed and you won't be booked"
Tell that to the lady Datsun driver, the milko, and the bus drivers in last nights story.
Can the RTA/GOV guarantee that the speed cameras won't develop faults?
We don't need more speed cameras ,we need 3 times as many highway patrol cars and all the new ones, to be unmarked to catch the bad drivers.
