Dear sir,
Once again the Cleveland st Moore Park speed cameras top the list in revenue collected from speeding drivers. ("Camera eyes on revenue" Mon 13) The one thing never mentioned is that the cameras at Moore Park are in a school zone understandably installed there for the school kids safety. These cameras being of the "variable speed" variety also catch out drivers cruising through that site a few clicks over the artificially low (for the area)speed limit after school zone time. I have emailed the Roads Minister and the Premier suggesting that the vast bulk of the fines at this site would be for minor after school zone time infractions, and as a public relation exercise they could turn off the after hours function. But what a difference an election win makes, because before the March election it took 8 hours to get a personal reply to an email to the then opposition leader Mr O'Farrell, but now there is no acknowledgement of my emails from the Premier, his office, or his Roads Minister Gay or anyone from his office.

Next month the results of the speed camera audit will come out, a couple of old non producing cameras "will be ripped out" the rest will be deemed "effective" for road safety, and in the interest in even more road safety out will come the 40 new privately run mobil speed cameras

It is only police in unmarked cars that catch the real idiots on our roads, like the woman texting at 80 kl/mh in front of me on Southern cross drive last week..... not speed cameras
