After that was in the Telegraph I did get an email the next day.

When the result of the NSW speed camera audit comes out next month what will we be told?
Maybe that:
Speed cameras ARE effective in slowing down drivers.
Being as they are effective, having more would slow down even more drivers.
The only ones complaining would be bad drivers.
Simple, don't speed and you don't get caught.
So in the interest of road safety the 40 new mobile speed camera vans will be rolled out.
