As regulars know I have a thing about wasting money on over engineering as in Mellenium train , Collins class submarines etc.
On 2GB this morning Jason Morrison was talking about our solar powered parking meters in the ciy.
You know the ones that weren't switched on for weeks when first installed in Febuary.
Jason says that they don't keep accurate time, which I suppose means you have to synchronize your watch to the wrong time on the meter to get back in time before being booked.
There was also problems with the solar batteries going flat and people having to go around to replace them.
Modern technology?
If you type parking meters in the search panel (below categories) the sad saga is as reported in the telegraph
