Old news is not news
Unless something dramatic happens at a school zone like some poor kid getting run over or a speed camera is BBQ'ued British style I'm afraid the media isn't interested, see:
http://www.speedcam.co.uk/gatso2a.htm
I emailed the two biggest talk back radio people in the last two weeks and didn't get a reply.
I know the 2GB chap is very busy, but I would've liked a reply at least and the "NOT GUILTY" Lawyers I asked for help,( the whole sorry saga further down the page) advertise quite heavily on 2UE which might be a reason for no reply there.
With all the stories with P platers causing havoc on the roads, there's no sympathy for good drivers caught unawares.
Not that I condone the action of the vandals in England, but if you do see a speed camera bonfire email me a picture and "in the public interest" I will publish it.
It appears that the RTA want to put Rego plate recognition technology into all speed and red light cameras "to track criminals"
These criminals, are they all the drivers who ran out of points because of multiple fines at places like Beverly Hills and now drive without a licence because they have no choice, because of inefficient public transport.
Some people actually need a car to get to work so they can pay a mortgage and feed their kids.
I have an idea who the real criminals are.

This smashed speed camera sign at Fredrck St Beverly Hills has be replaced
