There was a letter in the Telegraph (22/8/05 )and the writer was complaining that the NRMA should stick to road service and not waste money on things, like the cross city tunnel.
I don't agree, the NRMA was set up to help members and if something impacts on drivers like tunnels and silly road rules and it should act.
But not after the horse has bolted and act with a bit of guts not the "cap in hand" stuff that are called "Submissions"
The very word "submission" means you are already anticipating or admitting defeat.
We'd have "flashing lights at school zones NOW if the NRMA did voice it's members wishes in a more forthright manner
IThe NRMA can threaten and bully panel beaters but it's "Yes Mr Scully" "No Mr Costa" and it'll be same with Mr Tripodi.
"On behalf of our 2,000,00O or so members (read Voters)we demand"
Now that sort of submission might make someone sit up and take notice,
not the "Please sir, can I have some more?" platitude.
I was speaking to a Taren point panel beater this afternoon and he was suffering and would have to close down unless there is a resolution to the NRMA car Insurance mess. He said he's holding out ,HE HAS TO or he' will close down.
The number of NRMA INSURANCE policy cancellations this month would be very worrying to shareholders and board members.
The more full page avertisments I see to tell us that everything is hunky dorie, I'm thinking , IS IT ?
