Justice?
One of the over 30,000 drivers who have booked at Beverly Hills has after months of trying to get a fair hearing has paid up.
This I just posted on the Beverly Hills forum on.

Hi guys,
what efr611 earlier wrote is what that the RTA/GOV want you to do, and this is no reflection on him, he has held out for months and with no positive outlook from the RTA and alledgedly with no assurrances of sucess in the future from the "class action" lawyers he had to pay up.
I'm drafting a letter to the media at the moment with photos/video, with my views on what I thought was wrong at Beverly Hills as far back as July and that nothing has been done to fix the problem since, apart from signs in minor side streets.
About what you drivers did when you were fined, and how you have fared
My idea of a paid open letter, and how that went.
My idea of defacto 60 signs saturating the whole of the Beverly hills variable speed zone, to attract attention to the fact that there is insufficent signage there, before that idea came crashing down last Friday due to lack of funds and balance.
I will ask The Leader newspaper to, maybe in a human interest story eg. "Santa has an early break" to ask for drivers who have been caught at Beverly Hills to contact me.
A new idea (and less dangerous) is to have the affected drivers standing along the length of the Beverly Hills zone holding up "60" posters with media warned beforehand of course.
The idea being that this puts a human face to the fines that the RTA has gouged out of ordinary people who have jobs, families comitments etc.
AND NOT JUST TICKETS BEING SENT OUT TO NUMBER PLATES.

My wife is beside herself as to how we are going to cope with me not working, so I'm making sure this has all been worthwhile, believe me.

I have no problem with drivers that break the law being booked but they have to KNOW when they're breaking the law.
Our Premier Mr Iemma said at a graduation ceremony recently.
"POLICING IS ABOUT THE EXCERCISING THE POWER AND AUTHORITY IN A DEMOCRACY, IT'S ALSO ABOUT DETERMINING THE LIMITS OF THAT POWER,AND INSURING THERE IS JUSTICE."
...................................................................
IS THERE JUSTICE HAPPENING AT BEVERLY HILLS?
..................................................................
UPDATE:
Look for "The St George and Sutherland Shire Leader" next week, I think there will be a need very soon for people who have been unfairly treated at Beverly Hills.

REMEMBER, PEOPLE POWER WON'T WORK WITHOUT PEOPLE!
