This may seem strange coming from me after my my roadside effort recentily, but that was for the Federal Election
but Mr Collier did what he could for his constituents before, and no doubt be working hard for Miranda again.
I sent in a letter but it wasn't printed

Dear sir,
Stalwart labor man Barry Collier has regained his former seat of Miranda by the incredible swing of 27 %. Congratulations Barry. Was it just because Graham Annesely resigned and heading off to greener pastures as the Premier now blames, or maybe there are other concerns that voters have, for example over development and bugger the neighbours, the dithering on coal and coal seam gas mining? Obviously you can’t run a state without money, but more careful management of what does come in, would be a start.
A bit of advice for the NSW Liberal party, be careful who you select to stand for Miranda next election. After all the mail outs, ads, flyers, posters, robo phone calls, telling us the Liberal candidate last Saturday Brett Thomas would be a “strong voice” in government, “fighting for upgrades at hospitals, improved transport and protecting the unique character of the shire” Brett looses and say’s he’ll never run again. “as he is obviously a better lawyer than a politician” What a fighter.
Regards
Hans Stephens

It's just now the seat of Miranda is back to being a marginal seat, and if Labor continues to stuff around, the seat could be won back in a year and a half, but no Brett cut and run obviousily he was a very commited candidate.
I hope that Barry Collier get's in there gives it to them, for the Shire.
