The Lurgano man was on radio talkback again on Friday and is going to do what I had planned a year and a half ago.
Put up a set of his own flashing lights onto a school zone sign to see what happens.
Obviously the RTA might have a problem with this, but with right media coverage this exercise should highlight the fact, that he can supply and fit these lights that can do the job for under $200,when the RTA is talking $24,00 per set.
Because the then, Roads Minister Mr Scully said that it was "inconclusive" that flashing lights would work,I was going to monitor the Gymea school zone camera and count the flashes, with and then without the lights, to see if drivers reacted.
Sadly , even though to use my own flashing lights at a school zone would have put the cat among the pigeons, I reluctantly shelved that idea, and went with School Zone Santa instead.
