Votes count.
Saturdays Hearld had a small story about speed cameras in Britain.
I tried to scan it, but must be missing a step. Here's the 2 fingered version.

VOTE CATCHER
Speed cameras will be a general election issue when Britain goes to the polls on May 5, says Paul Smith of the safe speed organization.
Smith says the Conservation opposition, recognizing the huge strength of feeling and the voting power of 32 million motorists, have pledged to review speed cameras .
"we're tired of the spin used to prop up a failed policy," Smith said.

We appear to have a policy that is failing here and there is huge feeling about school zones here,I thought that if the problem with them was made political, something would be done to bring a bit of sanity into it.
I wrote on 27/1/05 (see Jan archives )that "cranky drivers make cranky voters"and there are thousands and thousands of them. .
Mr Brogden it appears is aware of that fact and I hope that his "flashing lights" at school zone initiative gets a bit of publicity.
Nothing in the press that I've seen as yet.
