Ten great years of ideas and achivements.
That is the heading in today's Southern shire leader.
Mr Carr proudly talks about the Cross city tunnel being six months ahead of schedule and the M7 west link 4 months ahead too.
Mr Carr doesn't mention these are privately funded and built and the sooner they are completed the sooner they are making money for the operators, and if there is a shortfall in takings the NSW taxpayers will make up the difference anyway.
Then there is the mooted desalination plant "to secure Sydney's water supply should the drought continue"
They are going to do a feasibility study, maybe it'll be just like the 2nd airport study.
$1.5 billion for new railway carriages. (more melleniums?)
"with record police numbers and tough new laws,we've seen crime rates down for the third consecutive year"
I have a Telegraph clipping that says that 15,168 police were employed in 2003 , last month the numbers dropped to 14,658.
Maybe police are quitting because they can't police, and aren't allowed to take the action needed to have law and order.
and to finish Mr Carr said "there's a lot more to be done after years of Coalition neglect."
A bit like me blaming my parents for the way I am.
How will the the average person remember the "Carr years", when they are daily confronted with the state of
Schools ,hospitals,trains,buses, water, electricity,etc
And of course land tax and my favourite, shool zones and the other nonsense road rules, and all this while he has had NSW in his stewardship.
