This morning the Police or lack of Police on our roads was a subject on 2GB and the comments offered were between visiable Police cars V unmarked cars callers

Hi Jason.....
Sadly over the xmas break there could be a horrific road accident and Mr Roozendaal or someone will come out, and say something like
"We need to crack down on speeding drivers and therefore the RTA will roll out more speed cameras to cut down the road toll"

Speed cameras work 24 hours a day, don't need training, uniforms, patrol cars, penalty rates, superanuation, holiday pay,and sick pay.
speed cameras just sit day after day collecting revenue off average motorists.

The serial anti- social hoon speeder uses the warning beep on his/her sat- nav to slow down momentarily at the camera and doesn't get caught.

Highway patrol in unmarked cars catch the real criminals, but in the government's eyes, obviously aren't cost effective.
