School Zone Santa .Com

A bit quiet on the school zone front until school goes back, and then it's on again for young and old, especially the unaware old.

This morning I did a job at Worinora and happened to mention school zones(funny that) and was told that "my wife was caught at Kogarah".
But the first time, it was for exceding the 60 speed limit( 72 klms) after school hours.
She wrote in that she hadn't seen the 60 sign amongst all the speed camera and school zone signs and as it had been a 70 area before she didn't realize her error.

She was let off with a warning, not so much for her excuse, I think ,but because of her good driving record.

There was a letter in the Saturday Telgraph and the writer said the problem with "p" plate drivers was that anyone with a full license can teach a learner to drive, and that this should be left to people that are qualified to do so.
This will benefit some but it's the nature of the young to take risks and to stretch the envelope.
Even with all the publicity about the dangers of drinking, smoking,drugs, and sex.
So even with all the sensible advice, what is happening out there?
Binge drinking , drug deaths and the rest.

Will everyone listen?

Every driver is told of the dangers on the road and ever day there are people killed and maimed by bad driving.

If a known bad driver, CAN'T drive a car then the danger is lessened (see the "p pate driver crisis" category)

And I hasten to say that not all "p" plate drivers are bad.

A letter on in Sundays Telegraph talked about the "madness of high speed chases"
The writer goes on about the dangers of these chases but does not give an
alternative.
A police officer sees someone breaking the law, say speeding or going through a red light.
How many innocent people are killed by drivers running a red light or speeding?

So what are the police, who we empower to uphold the law supposed to do?
They have to try and stop this person before he or she does kill someone, and ,have to make a judgment if the chase does become too dangerous to continue.

Just imagine the anarchy on our roads if drivers could just ignore police and speed off because police were not allowed to chase them.

I was tempted to write in to ask if this what this person thinks police should do to apprehend law breakers but I'm getting a bit tired of my letters not making the cut, because (I would assume) of "space
constraints "

Or don't I make sense and don't realize it?
