I see in today's Leader that our roads minister Mr Tripodi was at the switching on of the new pedestrian traffic lights at Bangor. These are to replace the old pedestrian bridge.

Mr Tripodi while there is reported as saying that the speed limit on the Bangor bypass and other roads in the area are "under review"
At the moment if I drive from Alfords point to Sutherland it's shorter and takes less time (if you catch the lights) to use the old road and to give the bypass a miss.
Which is surely not what the planers intended.
Make the speed limit a sensible 80 km/h and then there's an advantage to use the bypass.
