On line again
Sorry the web site was off today because it ran out of space , but here we are again.
All the news today was about speed cameras in the Lane Cove Tunnel.
10,000 drivers were booked, in six weeks, many multible times.
It seems they were caught out when thet didn't notice that the speed had changed from 80 down to 40 kmh during tunnel mainenance.
Drivers rang into talkback radio having been booked at 75 77 80 and if you didn't see the signs that was the normal right speed.
But others were booked at 45 43 48. Why were they going so slow when they thought the speed limit was 80.
Maybe they had seen the signs after all and thought a bit over 40 was ok.
Earier this year when the new flashing lights were going up I talked of the stupidity of putting them all on the left hand side of the road, behind trees around bends.
Well someone's seen the light.
They have moved the lights from the left to the centre median strip. Trying not to be pedantic , it could be better if the sign was angled slightly towards the traffic as the lights are directional and would be more visible that way.
There is a set outside the Crystal car wash at Blakehurst that point towards the Chinese Restaraunt across King Geoges rd, the sign should face towards the traffic as it sweeps through the intersection.
................................................................
This next set was moved to the centre and before the move the original placement was stupid.
Before the move, see the sign on the left? Look closely
And now you can see it from way back.
Why didn't they do that in the first place?
