Hunting season coming up?
Brent emailed me and said that "new " cameras heading South had been installed.
To check I drove out this morning and no, they are the same, but maybe Brent saw someone straightening the camera "flash" back into a reasonable and working position, as some one had been using the flash unit to do chin ups and bent it out of shape.

It is working now because a small red car cruised past at 5.45am on this empty 3 lane divided ring road and the "flash" went off.
At 6 am a RTA ute pulled into the car park near me and when a colleague arrived shortly after, one monitered the control box near the camera whilst the other drove the ute repeatedly past the camera sensors to make sure (I assume)it was accurate.
I suppose if it reads 40 on the ute (as in photo) and in the control box it's OK

They also did this for the 60 speed limit.
There is still no 60 sign on King Georges road between Stoney Creek rd and the camera heading North, and no extra school zone flasing light unit at Edgbaston st heading South.
At least when school starts later this month the camera is calibrated.
Mind you if you are caught by the school zone camera heading South just write in and explain that you didn't see any speed camera sign before you entered the school zone from Fredrick st.

This sign, a legal requirement before a speed camera has been like this for months.
This of course can only be used in a defence if you actually came out of Fredrick st.
I am emailing Mr Roozendaal this morning to mention again the need to have a flashing light unit installed at Edgbaston st before the new school year starts to help drivers, and for the safety of the school children.

The premier Mr Iemma made this speech at the swearing in of the new police commissoner.
