Foxtel customers.
Yesterday I did a small job at a house in Carlton and by way of conversation asked if they had pay TV.
Yes we have Foxtel.
Satelite? I asked.
They did and did not realize that "free to air" 7 and 10 were missing until after installation.
As they had "switched" from Optus vision they had assumed (poor trusting people) that they would have all five "free to air" with Foxtel.
Fortunately they have good Tv reception, but still find it a pain to have to use two remotes and don't watch 7 and 10 much at all because of this.
I believe that Foxtel has signed it's !,000.000 th subscriber,I wonder what the companies that advertise on channels 7 and 10 think about this potential loss of customers?
Today at Cronulla my clients have Foxtel and HAD been told about the lack of 7&10 before they signed, but have to get their missing channels via Wollongong.
The one gripe they have with Foxtel, is that the volume of the advertisements is a lot louder than the programs. No, surely not.
and they have the top package, so they must like TV
I had noticed the volume thing, but hadn't mentioned it not wanting to appear to be a whinger.
I typed in Foxtel the other night and among all the Foxtel sites I found one that had a list of F.A.Q.,s and to be fair to Foxtel there was down the list an answer which mentioned "free to air " channels.
I've tried to find this site and list today, to see what number Question it was in the list, but can't find it.
I did go to a Foxtel selling stand in Westfield and when I asked the sales girl if they had any advertising material that mentioned the lack of 7 and 10, I got a blank look.
So if you don't have the internet(and fluke the right site )prospective customers are kept in the dark.
