CUT THE CORD
Below are some articles of children that have died or damaged for life, after having become entangled in blind or curtain cords.
What is needed is publicity to highlight the danger in the baby's room , publicity helped by say, a high profile top rating radio star, who also has a high rating spot on TV, who with his profile could I'm sure get The Daily Telegraph on board to get a "cut the cord" campaign up and running.
Imagine the impact on mothers who listen and watch him highlight the danger of these cords above cots or beds.
Death or life long brain damage that could be avoided by a simple snip of sissors
Many new fathers nowadays cut the cord at the birth of their newborn , what is more important I think, is that other cords need to be cut to ensure their precious baby doesn't end up like the poor kids in the articles below.
A toddler has been left paralysed for life after her neck became trapped in the cord of a window blind.
Emily Warner, two, was put to bed by her parents, but got up and was climbing across her window sill when the accident happened.
She was found hanging unconscious by her father Jamie when he walked past her bedroom.

A two-year-old boy is dead after police say he got tangled in cords from window blinds.
Police say it happened around 7:45 p.m. at a home on Water in South St. Louis. Investigators say the two-year-old climbed up into the windows of his bedroom and got tangled up in a long nylon cord from the window blinds.
Dangerous not only to toddlers
Freak accident. A 6-year-old girl is dead after being hung in her own home. According to police, cords attached to the blinds somehow got wrapped around her neck.
And many more examples of this needless tragedy;
Even if only one life is saved or lifelong medical problems to a precious child is avoided by a "cut the cord campaign" it would be worthwhile.
