Action
The RTA is quiet busy re school zones.
The faulty light I saw on Friday afternoon at Blakehurst was working this morning, but was it very efficent repair work or could it be a timer problem?
The long school zone taking in all of the Beverly Hills shopping strip on King Geoges Rd is definately a concern.
Drivers just don't realize coming from the West, that it's all school zone and this morning most drivers were well over the speed limit.
They have a flashing light before Ponyara st where the school is, but apart from a small sign near Tooronga st, that's it, and it's down hill to the (yet to be switched on) speed camera in the middle of the shopping strip.

The other side of the road drivers have this extra flashing light and it works well as can be seen by the driver reaction to it.
As I said the RTA (meaning RTA's contactors)are very busy and numerous men, witch's hats and trucks were on the Princes Highway near Terry st this morning, where they are putting up a "spare" flashing light unit.

An earlier photo showing the flashing light that was faulty on the 27/ 6/07 and the plastic barriers are where the second spare light unit is going.
Also a speed camera is being installed to target drivers who ignore the flashing lights on Forest rd for the Penshurst Girls High school zone, or those unfortunate unaware drivers who enter the zone from a side street without the benefit of flashing lights.
